Roofing Weights

 

       The weight of a roofing material is very important.  Lighter weight materials reduce the cost of the supporting structure, and simplify installation.  If reroofing, light weight also eliminates concerns for the structure's ability to carry the roof load and may eliminate the need for an engineering study of the building structure. In new construction, a lighter roof allows for lower cost roof structure, framing and building foundation.
